Sinkholes Suspected Near Apgujeong and Dolgoji Stations in Seoul ⚠️

Reports of suspected sinkholes near Apgujeong Station (Line 3) and Dolgoji Station (Line 6) in Seoul prompted temporary road closures on October 16th. Thankfully, no injuries were reported! 🙏

Apgujeong Station Incident

Around 4:50 PM, a report came in about a sinkhole near Apgujeong Station’s Exit 4. However, police investigation revealed it wasn’t a true sinkhole but a slight depression where the asphalt-covered road had sunk. It was about 5cm deep and 60cm wide.

Dolgoji Station Incident

Another report came in around 5 PM about a sinkhole near Dolgoji Station’s Exit 6. This turned out to be a pothole, measuring 5cm deep and 50cm wide.

Response and Current Status

Authorities, including the district office and police, responded quickly. One lane near Dolgoji Station has been closed off, and the district office is working to fill the pothole.

Apgujeong and Dolgoji are neighborhood names in Seoul. Apgujeong is known for its upscale shopping and cosmetic surgery clinics.
