The Korea Industrial Manpower Agency (KIM) is conducting the ‘2025 National Heritage Repair Technician National Qualification Exam’ at the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in Buyeo, South Chungcheong Province, from December 9th to 12th. ๐๏ธ
This unique national professional qualification aims to produce skilled professionals essential for repairing national heritage sites. A total of 2,297 individuals have applied for the exam across 23 categories, including:
- Conservation Technician (334 applicants)
- Landscaping Technician (315 applicants)
- Painter (182 applicants)
- Reproduction Painter (175 applicants)
- Master Carpenter (146 applicants)
- Assistant Surveyor (155 applicants)
- Cleaning Technician (148 applicants)
- Plant Protection Technician (133 applicants)
The exam includes both practical and interview assessments, conducted on the same day. A combined average score of 60 or higher is required to pass. ๐ฏ
Successful candidates can work in the conservation and repair of national heritage. With an increasing number of nationally designated heritage sites and the growing importance of professional repair, the demand for qualified professionals is expected to rise. ๐
