Breaking: Collapse at Shinansan Line Construction Site in Gwangmyeong, South Korea 🚨

A collapse occurred at the Shinansan Line construction site in Iljik-dong, Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The incident took place at approximately 3:17 PM KST on April 11, 2025.

According to the Gyeonggi Gwangmyeong Police Station, the collapse happened at the Shinansan Line Section 5-2 construction site near Yangji Intersection.

Initial reports indicated that some workers were out of contact following the collapse. Emergency services have confirmed the safety of three workers, but one remains trapped inside the collapsed area. 😔

Earlier in the day, around 12:30 AM KST, a report was filed regarding cracks in several central pillars (supports) inside the underground tunnel under construction, raising concerns about a potential collapse. As a result, traffic around the site was already fully restricted. 🚧
