When asked if the party should expel Yoon, Kim asserted that it should, arguing that Yoon fundamentally undermined conservative values and contradicted the party’s constitution.

Addressing calls for his own departure, Kim questioned why he should be subject to disciplinary measures, stating that his actions did not violate the party’s constitution. While he currently has no intention of resigning, he stated that he would need to reconsider if the party ceases to represent conservative values. He also stressed his aversion to communism, stating he couldn’t remain in a party that embraced such ideology.

Kim also expressed concerns about the continuation of ‘관저 정치 (gwanjeo politics),’ referring to the practice of conducting political affairs from the presidential residence. He anticipates that the current administration will continue this practice, as he sees no reason for them to discontinue it.

자신을 향한 원내 의원들의 탈당 압박을 받고 있는 김상욱 국민의힘 의원은 7일 “계엄 사태와 관련해 국민들에게 행동으로 하는 사과는 바로 윤석열 전 대통령에 대한 탈당 조치”라고 강조했다.

이날 김 의원은 SBS라디오 ‘김태현의 정치쇼’에 출연해 “탄핵이 된 이후 이제 법원의 판단까지 나왔다. 말로만 사과하는 것은 사과가 아니다”라며 “행동으로 사과를 해야 하는데, 행동으로 하는 사과는 ‘윤석열 전 대통령에 대한 징계’라고 생각한다”고 밝혔다.

당에서 출당 시켜야 하느냐는 진행자의 질문에 김 의원은 “당연히 그렇다고 생각한다”며 “보수의 가치를 정면으로 훼손했고, 당헌을 정면으로 부인했다”고 답했다.

이어 “당연히 만약에 제가 속해 있는 당이 공산당이다 그러면 저는 같이 못 가는 것”이라며 “저는 공산주의가 싫다”고 강조했다.
