Son of South Korean Lawmaker Tests Positive for Marijuana After Attempting to Acquire Liquid Cannabis

Lee, the 30-year-old son of South Korean lawmaker Lee Cheol-gyu from the People Power Party, has tested positive for marijuana following a failed attempt to procure liquid cannabis. The Seocho Police Station in Seoul received the hair follicle test results from the National Forensic Service, confirming the positive result.

Last October, Lee allegedly attempted to obtain liquid cannabis via a “drop-off” method in an alleyway in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The attempt was unsuccessful. CCTV footage also revealed that Lee’s wife accompanied him to the scene, leading to her indictment under the Narcotics Control Act.

Police have also requested drug tests for Lee’s wife and other accomplices. They are currently investigating the specifics of the crime.
