The Junginwook Academic Scholarship Foundation, part of the Sampyo Group, donated โฉ30 million won to Zion Won, a child care facility in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, to support the creation of single rooms for children in care. ๐
What’s the Project About?
This initiative aims to provide independent spaces for children living in care facilities, allowing them to practice independent living before they transition out of the facility as adults. It aligns with Seoul’s ‘Youth Independence Support Master Plan.’ Think of it as a head start for these young adults! ๐
Where the Money Goes?
The donation will cover the design and supervision costs for the single-room construction. Plus, it’ll help furnish the new rooms with essential furniture. This way, the kids can feel comfortable and at home. ๐ก
Yoo Yong-jae, Secretary-General of the Junginwook Academic Scholarship Foundation, mentioned, “It’s meaningful to help these children experience independence before leaving the facility. We hope they can nurture their dreams in their own rooms and will continue to expand projects supporting young adults preparing for independence.” โค๏ธ
The Junginwook Academic Scholarship Foundation also supports young adults through the Korea Student Aid Foundation’s ‘Blue Lighthouse Donation Scholarship’ and collaborates with the Joy Sharing Foundation to improve spaces for young adults preparing for independence. They’re really making a difference! โจ
